Linda Nelson, Executive Director, Opera House Arts

Linda.Nelson is a founder and the Executive Director of Opera House Arts, Stonington, and holds a BA in American Studies from Bowdoin College. Linda is also an Executive Consultant, specializing in strategic planning, operations, and technology implementation for firms nationwide. A graduate of Leadership Maine, Linda has extensive media experience, having worked both as Chief Information Officer at Village Voice Media, and as News & Web Editor for the Island Ad-Vantages on Deer Isle, Maine. Her freelance writing has been published in a variety of national periodicals. Linda uses her knowledge to develop community-building and leadership programs, public education improvements and small business growth in her local community.

Wendy Poole, Executive Director, The Theatre Project, Brunswick

Wendy Poole is a teacher, actor and director. Born in New York, Wendy studied acting with Uta Hagen and William Hickey at H.B. Studios. She continued her studies later at Bennington College in Vermont. Sixteen years ago, Wendy moved to Maine, and began working at The Theater Project. Wendy has traveled from Bar Harbor to Kennebunk teaching acting residencies in over 100 schools, the primary goal, to show how theater can support learning. Wendy also serves on the board of the Maine Educational Theatre Association and was instrumental in setting up the Maine Chapter and conference last year.

Heather McCarthy, Executive Director, American Folk Festival

Heather McCarthy a lifelong resident of Maine (a Houlton native who has settled comfortably into the greater Bangor area), Heather has worked for (more than) 20 years in media and event production.  In 2000, she was a part of the team who wrote the proposal inviting the National Folk Festival (NFF) to select Bangor as its next host city.  This began her affiliation with the National – and subsequent American – Folk Festivals.  She currently serves as the Executive Director, coordinating the efforts of 18 Board members, 5 volunteer committees, two full-time staffers, and over 800 volunteers.  Heather is a member of the Traditional Arts Committee of the Maine Arts Commission, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bangor Convention & Visitors Bureau.

David Greenham, Producing Director, Theatre at Monmouth

David Greenham has been involved with theater in Maine since he came here in 1985 with a group of friends from college to start Brown’s Head Repertory Theater. A director, actor, and playwright, David has created several plays that have been produced at Monmouth and other theaters around the country. Most recently, David was commissioned by the Maine Humanities Council to research and write As Maine Grows, a touring play and discussion program that focuses on the history and future of growth and development in Maine . In addition to his work at The Theater At Monmouth, David is an adjunct professor at the University of Maine at Augusta where he gets to teach a class in one of his true passions, theater history. David lives in Readfield with his wife Jeri Pitcher and their cool son Zach.
